I enjoyed the tutorial and now I'm doing my usual bounty-hunter thing. Seems like a good place to hop in if you've been out for a while. It has a lot of robust sub-systems to tinker with now, I'm really liking the story point mechanic as it helps give some input on the entirely textual interactions outside of ship combat rather than making everything pure random chance (something that always annoyed me in Escape Velocity as some of the branching paths could be a coin toss).

Seems like this update is a really good point to get in.

Usually hopped on and took a look but then got distracted by something else before I got in to the meat of it. I hadn't dove much in to the last few years of improvements and updates. The extra tactical layers added to the combat are great, and the expansion of the conquest/4x stuff helps there to be an actual endgame (something very few of the Escape Velocity games had as the system conquest was really simplistic, as was fleet control). It scratches that itch of space trade sim plus top down arcade-y combat that has had me addicted to the series since the very first one. Yeah, for me, it very much gives Escape Velocity+ vibes.
